Wow, what a busy spring and summer it was for our family!
Parties, graduations and weddings OH MY! God is so good, Ya'll!!
I am finally getting around to showing y'all how much FUN we had at my son's wedding in June! What an amazing weekend we had!! Mother nature gave us everything from 100 degree temps to gale force winds to beautiful sunsets and finally a thunderstorm just before the vows! More on THAT in another post. LOL!
Mary Arcuni and team were the photographers for the wedding weekend and all photo credit goes to them.. They were so wonderful to work with and did a great job!
The rehearsal dinner took place just steps away from the ceremony site at Firefly Farm in Wimberley, Texas.
The afternoon was a scorcher and the wind began to gust just as the rehearsal dinner started but as the sun began to go down the evening was perfect for a GARDEN FIESTA. Kaitlin was a beautiful blushing bride-to-be and Clay was as handsome as ever. :)
As Momma of the groom, I was excited to be able to host the rehearsal dinner. I wanted Kaitlin and Clay to choose a theme and then leave the rest up to me. We are all from SW Texas on the Mexico border so they chose to serve Mexican food and asked for a garden fiesta.
I kept the decorations simple and complimentary to the beautiful meadow that surrounded us. I used bright festive colors and hanging baskets of ferns and blooming bougainvilleas. The centerpieces were fresh flowers in wrought iron candle stands and Mexican pottery bean pots. The fresh flowers were done by Wow Factor Floral, located in the Hill Country. They did a beautiful job and were so easy to work with.
I had hanging lanterns with swags of silk flowers, succulents and ribbons lining the path to the pavilion. Can you believe I forgot to take pictures of them that night? After all the time I spent making them, the only photo I managed to get was on the fence at home as we were loading the U-Haul.
Bowen welcomed our guests and began the evening with a beautiful prayer. These are two of my favorite pictures from the evening. Luis is one of Clay's best friends and we love him like another son, I love this picture of him in the foreground with his hands clasped in prayer and his head bowed. The photo of Clay and Kaitlin huddled together in prayer is so sweet.
Clay and Kaitlin picked their favorites for the Mexican food dinner; fajitas, enchiladas, rice, beans and guacamole. The catering for both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding was done by Alex and Nora Escamilla of West Texas Catering and BBQ in San Angelo, Texas. The Escamilla's are friends of both families and have been part of many special celebrations in our family. The small framed photo next to the flower arrangement is a picture of Clay and the Escamilla's when they catered his high school graduation party!
A selection of delicious Mexican cookies and candies on the dessert table came from Mi Tierra Cafe and bakery In San Antonio.
Guests enjoyed drinks from the adorable Tipsy Trailer, Including Clay and Kaitlin's custom margarita flavors and Mexican fruit sodas.
Speeches and toasts from friends and family to the bride and groom brought great stories, LOTS of laughter and even a few tears.
The photo booth area was a hit! Look at all these precious people who mean so much to us!! I just can't stand it!! So much love!!
A pen with farm animals nearby kept our youngest guests entertained.
A group picture of the bride and groom and their wedding party. They are so blessed by these incredible friendships. Many of them did not know one another prior to the wedding weekend. What fun to see Kaitlin and Clay surrounded by so much love and support.
The bride and groom celebrate border style!
It was an unbelievable privilege to get a chance to honor our son and his beautiful bride and welcome her into our family with a Garden Fiesta!
BUENAS NOCHES
